Healing Their Hidden Wounds
Dear Friend of Veterans, First Responders and our Military:
I am writing to you to introduce Operation Warrior Shield (OWS), a 501(c)(3) organization that has been incorporated to assist our warriors, both past and present, in helping them to overcome the stresses brought about by their profession.
OWS is led by CMSgt (ret) Edward Schloeman. Our Board of Directors listing is on our website and is made up of true professionals who love their veterans and first responders.
Most of you know the work that my late friend Jerry Yellin and I did over the last 14 years when we traveled the country speaking on behalf of Transcendental Meditation (TM). We became partners with many organizations, and we made major improvements in the lives of many who were trying to overcome their “hidden wounds” of PTS. As Jerry said, “we have a purity of purpose.”
OWS was awarded by the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce “The Best Innovative Non For Profit in 2017,” and we continue to strive to be the best in offering our Warriors peace of mind. Additional recognition was also given by NYC Mayor Eric Adams, NYPD, and NYC Dept. of Veterans Services. We are honored to be partners with The David Lynch Foundation, and the Doris Day Animal Foundation.
Our efforts shall be directed to the following disciplines:
a) Offering free training of the non-religious modality of Transcendental Meditation-TM, which has a proven medical record for reducing PTSI symptoms.
b) Assisting veterans in finding employment into well-paying jobs.
c) Assisting local city agencies in helping to reduce veteran homelessness.
d) Assisting veterans to obtain companion dogs.
Every 13.3 minutes, America loses a loved one to suicide. There is still an epidemic level WHERE each day 22 veterans commit suicide, and in 2012, 126 Police Officers took their lives.
OPERATION WARRIOR SHIELD can help in this epidemic; but we need your help.
The following is an example of how you can help us help them;
GOLD STAR MEMBERSHIP: Recognition as a GOLD STAR Member on all collateral materials, mailings, website, fund-raising events, and a TM training course.
CHARITABLE CONTRIBUTION: $25,000
SILVER STAR MEMBERSHIP: Recognition as a SILVER STAR Member on all collateral materials, mailings, website, fund-raising events, and a TM training course.
CHARITABLE CONTRIBUTION: $10,000
BRONZE STAR MEMBERSHIP: Recognition as a Bronze Star Member on all collateral materials, mailings, website and fund-raising events.
CHARTABLE CONTRIBUTION: $5,000
