Operation Warrior Shield
Healing Their Hidden Wounds
Healing Their Hidden Wounds
Operation Warrior Shield supports the health, healing, and stability of Service Members, Veterans, First Responders, and their families. We focus on wellness, healing from trauma, peer support, and community connection, helping to address both visible and “hidden” wounds through natural, holistic and compassionate programs.
Operation Warrior Shield was founded in 2016 by Edward “Ed” Schloeman and the late Jerry Yellin, with a shared commitment to supporting Veterans, Service Members, First Responders, and their families. In partnership with the David Lynch Foundation, they traveled the country advocating for the powerful, non-religious modality of Transcendental Meditation™ (TM), helping to bring evidence-based stress relief and trauma healing to those struggling with the invisible wounds of service.
Over the years, Operation Warrior Shield has built strong partnerships with leading organizations including the Wounded Warrior Project, USO, U.S. Army, U.S. Marine Corps, NYC Department of Veterans’ Services, NYPD, and many others — expanding its reach and impact for those who serve.
In 2020, through partnerships with the Doris Day Animal Foundation, Hope for Heroes, and the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, OWS launched Operation Companion Canine, providing service and companion dogs to America’s heroes.
Today, OWS continues to advance Ed’s vision by offering proven, compassionate programs that help heal hidden wounds, build resilience, and strengthen lives, families, and communities.
